Shane is a courageous kid who uses humor to deal with his spinal muscular atrophy, a disease that causes the muscles to waste away. As you can see, it was quite tiring. Check it out and let us know what you think: I hope that you will enjoy reading this, and if you do, I hope it will inspire you to press the share button. My goal tonight is to get this post seen by more people than ever before, and you all hold that power for me.

I completely understand their confusion. After all, writing at least as kids think of it requires holding a pencil or using their hands to type on a keyboard. Sometimes, to mess with the kids, I begin with a few pretend answers for them.

I have a handy app for my iPhone that transforms it via Bluetooth into a keyboard for my laptop. Using my lightning quick ninja thumbs, I can type all my thoughts into the little keyboard on my phone and watch as they magically appear on my laptop screen! The power of technology is truly amazing, and I know this because the kids always respond with priceless wide-eyed looks of wonderment.

Literal sweat and tears went into the typing of those stories. Those struggles are a part of living with my disease, but so is learning to adapt and persevere as new challenges arise.

Time and time again, modern technology has allowed me to stave off the loss of function that comes with muscle decay. Tonight, my charity is opening up a campaign to provide vital, life-changing technology to 11 people living with muscular dystrophy.

Access to adaptive technology quite literally changes lives for people with muscular dystrophy diseases. It can be the difference between surrendering to the loss of ability and being able to adapt and strive forward.

Each of them will be receiving technology that they requested to improve their overall quality of life. If you are able, it would mean so much to me if you tossed in a few bucks.

Even more importantly, sharing this post will help us reach as many people as possible! Support our Tech The Halls campaign here:This is a just a little bit more about me laughingatmynightmare.
